Between January and June 2010, more than 20% of traffic fatalities in New Jersey were pedestrians.

Safety Cameras - Saving 
Lives in New Jersey
In Newark, safety cameras monitor 10 of the most dangerous intersections across the city.  Police found: 
 
16% reduction in crashes between 2010 and 2009.
 
23% reduction in crashes from June-Dec 2009 to June-Dec 2010.
