Speed Safety
The data is clear. Traffic crashes are the single most significant cause of preventable death and injury in North America. In communities across Ohio, the use of speed safety cameras not only helps deter reckless driving, but also has resulted in a decreased number of fatal and non-fatal crashes.

• In Ohio alone, more than 250 people are killed in speeding-related crashes each year. (Ohio Department of Public Safety)

• More than 85% of speeding-related fatalities occur on roads that are not interstate highways.

• The Dayton Police Department conducted a study from March 3rd through March 8th and documented over 4,600 incidents of speeding (10 mph over posted limit) at ten intersections.
